Perfume Pagoda

Huong Son Area consists of Huong Pagoda and Huong Tich Cave and is situated in Huong Son commune, My Duc district, in Ha Tay province, almost 70 kilometres northwest of Hanoi.

From Duc port, boats take visitors along Yen stream, letting them admire the beauty of Huong Son. Huong Son is not only famous for its natural landscapes, but also for its grottoes and striking old pagodas. For example, Thien Tru Pagoda was built at the end of 17th century. Seen from bottom up, the bell tower (8,2 metres high, 7,8 metres wide and 9,2 metres large) is shaped as a lotus flower with several petals.

Huong Tich Cave is considered as the most picturesque cave in Vietnam, "Nam Thien De Nhat Dong." Huong Tich Cave is located deep into a mountain, 120 steps from the cave entrance. Several stalagmites and stalactites with fascinating shapes can also be seen in the cave. The stone drops were given interesting names according to their shape: Cay Vang, meaning "golden tree," Cay Bac, meaning "silver tree," Ne Ken, meaning "silver worm," and Nong Tam, meaning "basket." There is also a group of stone drops similar to dragons that were named the Nine Dragons.
