Ha Long Bay, located in the
Gulf of Tonkin, covers an area of 1,500 square km. with
more than a thousand limestone peaks rising up from its
crystalline emerald waters. The calm sea provides an ideal
location for sea kayaking as we paddle through a maze of
islets amid dramatic natural scenery. With this excellent
combination tour you can experience Ha Long Bay by boat
and kayak as well as walking through Cat Ba National Park.
Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Long City (B)
This morning we will depart Hanoi at 0800 for a four-hour
drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. On the
way we will stop for refreshments and a chance to buy hand
made souvenirs at a handicraft centre run to raise money
for disabled people. Upon arriving in Ha Long City we
transfer to our hotel.
Day 2: Ha Long City - Cat Ba Island (B/L)
Today we embark on a full day on the calm waters of Ha
Long Bay as we make our way to Cat Ba Island.
Day 3: Cat Ba Island - Hai Phong - Hanoi (B)
Following breakfast we visit the Cat Ba National Park to
visit the old Military Hospital cave that was used by the
North Vietnamese Army during the American war. We will
return to Cat Ba town ship before boarding the one-hour
ferry service back to Vietnam’s largest sea port and third
largest city, Hai Phong. Arriving in Hai Phong we transfer
to our waiting vehicle for the two hour drive back to
Hanoi.
